Easter family fun at home can encompass a variety of crafts, activities and recipe-making. Besides a typical easter egg hunt and cupcake making, try one of these more unique ways to celebrate the weekend with your family.
Glow-in-the-Dark Easter Egg Hunt
Turn your hunt into an exciting night-time activity. Simply decorate your eggs using glow-in-the- dark paint. Once they’re dry, parents can hide the eggs outside or inside (with lights off) and kids can then scramble to find the glowing eggs! Alternatively, put small tea lights inside of plastic eggs and the eggs will glow.
Tasty Easter-Themed S’mores
Instead of plain old marshmallows, try using Peeps bunnies or chicks! And instead of plain old chocolate, substitute in a peanut butter egg or tiny chocolate bunny. Kids love themed snacks and this one will become a family favorite.
Easter Plantings
As Easter is all about spring and renewal, make it a weekend to plant new flowers with your kids — in a planter or in your garden. Teach them how to tend the flowers and help them grow. If you get an Easter lily, you can plant it in your garden when it has finished blooming and it will come back every year.
Easter Stories All Weekend
Collect Easter-themed books easily from second hand stores and create an Easter story pile next to a cozy blanket with pillows on the floor. Take time out every afternoon all weekend long for Easter Story Time with your kids.
